Department of Psychology

The Psychology Program is geared toward understanding the complex problems and vital issues of human thought and behavior.  It is oriented toward the scientific and applied areas of graduate study leading toward the master's or doctoral degree or professional employment.

Completion of the Psychology Program prepares students to pursue studies in such related fields as social work, counseling, special education, rehabilitation, psychiatric nursing, teaching and related fields.

The Robert L. Williams Psychology Club offers students career needed skills and opportunities building their resume.  The Psychology club holds regular meetings which includes guest speakers and activities designed to increase the professional awareness and knowledge of psychology majors.  Joining the club gives students better opportunities for volunteering, and they are closely linked to the local Association of Black Psychologists.
