Block Party Kicks off Homecoming 2010 LITTLE ROCK, AR (Nov. 2, 2010) Philander Smith College’s Pre-Alumni Council is hosting an United Negro College Fund (UNCF) Block Party, Sunday, Nov. 7, from 1 to 6 p.m. The block party is the first event for Philander Smith’s 2010 Homecoming schedule. There will be refreshments, games, and a Greek stroll-off, in which fraternity and sorority members compete in a synchronized strut in a line formation. A live band will perform. The party will be held in the parking area in front of the Cox Building. This event is free, but donations are encouraged to support the UNCF. Students will also solicit signatures to support a letter-writing campaign they’ve initiated to strengthen Arkansas’s drunk driving laws.
