Meet the Staff
Martha (Martie) L. Savage, R.N. received her education in nursing from Texarkana, College and later at Baptist Health School of Nursing. She began her nursing career over 26 years ago taking care of Intensive Care Unit patients and Cardiac patients in Texarkana, TX. In 1989 Martie moved to Little Rock where she worked at Baptist Health in the Surgical/Trauma Intensive Care and then Emergency Department. She then moved to Bryant, AR and began working in Emergency Services at Southwest Regional Medical Center and later held the title of Director of Emergency Services. Martie has also been the Wellness Manager at Little Rock Job Corps where she was responsible for overseeing healthcare for 300+ youth ages 16-24. Having declared a Major in Psychology at the University of Texas at Arlington, Martie has always had a love for psychology/psychiatry and has over 20 years experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in the psychiatric setting.
Martie is also a Coach for Team BeachBody and she believes that prevention is the key to healthy living. She has a passion about helping others getting fit and is working hard to help end the trend of obesity by helping others on their journey towards improved fitness. Here at Philander, Martie is dedicating her time to help the students learn how to live a healthy lifestyle, and to educate students in health maintenance and disease management.
