Administration

The senior Administration of Philander Smith College is comprised of the President, Vice Presidents, the Director of Human Resources, and the Director of the Social Justice Institute. Under the direction of the President, the senior Administration manages the College’s day-to-day operations, working closely with the Philander Smith College Board of Trustees to establish goals and priorities for the institution.

Over the years, Philander Smith’s Administration has, like most other colleges and universities, experienced tremendous growth from the times when in addition to their teaching duties faculty handled administrative matters. Changes came about as higher education institutions grew more complex and student expectations changed, prompting the need for additional staff to facilitate student services, manage business affairs, recruit new students, and raise money to support the College.
